Rushmore Little League teams are managed and coached by volunteers, typically parents of players. Every team needs one manager,1-2 coaches and a team assistant.
Prospective managers and coaches are asked at player registration to sign up on volunteer forms or make a note on their player’s registration form that they have an interest in coaching for the upcoming season. Coaches do not have to have a player in the league to be eligible. The player agent will form a list of potential coaches for the different divisions. The Board of Directors will review the list and notify managers/coaches of their selection.

Major Managers for both Baseball and Softball will be interviewed for a Major Manager position. The respective player agents will notify all applicants of the committee’s decision. Assistant coaches with a son/daughter player must be on the team, either through drafting of the player or the player was on last year’s team.
Potential canadites need not be worried about lack of experience. All Managers and Coaches will be given at least four hours of training at the beginning of each year. We will provide you with skill training, organizational tools, practice guidelines and with the help of our experienced managers and coaches, real lifetime examples of how to manage your team. We will provide you with a managers book that will show you how to structure your team, get your parents involved, teach and improve you player's skills and instill a sense of discipline.

All managers, coaches, and volunteers are required to fill out a Volunteer Form. Little League is the only national youth sports orginization to require that all persons involved in the day to day contact with your children be put through a background check. All names will be checked out against the sexual offenders list and any person found on it, will not and we repeat, will not be allowed to participate in Rushmore Little League.
